Christmas Day Pictures and family togetherness!

Debbie loving the Christmas tree.

Handsome Dallen giving me a pose by the tree!

Oh! What a cute couple. Can you believe it! We have been married for 31 fabulous years on Dec. 5th.

A bit blurry, but these little gals are so sweet and adorable.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Dallen opening christmas gifts and he is a happy boy! You can't really tell from his face.

Lyndon's new slippers.

Just getting ready to opena present. I wrapped it myself and so I knew it was a book. Hee! Hee!

On Dec. 10th we had a christmas party and played this fun game of ring the antlers on Rudolph. The kids had fun being Rudolph as you can see here with Chloe being Rudolph. It was a fun party. We held it up at Todd's. He has a nice home and we had a great time together.

Here is the Three Musketeer's, meaning the three that are all still at home, Dallen, Me and Lyndon. Pretty funny!

Ashley and Jed on Christmas day.

Shane and Erin on Christmas day.

Me in my apron posing for a picture. The kids told me I neede to take it off. I like it. It is a nice apron and keeps me from spilling on myself when cooking. I am holding a gift from Lyndon. He bought me the series from BBC, "Larkrise to Candleford". I love this series and could watch it over and over.

Todd and Megan gave me new Nike tennis shoes. I love them and they are really comfortble.

Lyndon received from Todd and Megan some items for 72 hr kits. Handwarmers ect.

Josie tearing open her present.

Emma loving her gift from Grandpa and Grandma.

Delphia received a game from us and she wasn't really excited about it, because Ruby and Emma got Disney princess stuff from us. Oh well, I just bought what her mom suggested. I think she will like it when she plays with her parents.

Chloe opening her gift of nail polish, earrings, bubble bath and a bath fizz ball.

Ruby opening her Disney princess gift from us.

Last, but not least is Grandma (me) of course. Smiling because Christmas is over and now I can get excited for the new year and all that is coming with it!

Just a few pics from our family Christmas party on Dec. 10th

We played a game of ring the reindeer. We had a lot of fun! We had the party at Todd and Megan's home and we played this game in their basement. The kids loved it as you can see little Delphia sitting with her Rudolph nose and antlers awaiting someone to ring one of her antlers. Pretty funny!

Little Josie is trying to toss a ring at Delphia. None of the grandkids did real well, but they sure had fun, especially when they got to be Rudolph.

Here is Ruby patiently waiting for someone to make a ringer.

The funniest Rudolph was Lyndon. It was hilarious to see him with the nose and antlers. The grandkids got a kick out of it. We had a nice evening together as always!

I snapped a picture of Josie in her car seat one day. I couldn't get a smile out of her though. She is still a little cutie!

Apostles of the Lord

Neil L. Anderson

L. Tom Perry

These great men are Apostle's of the Lord Jesus Christ. We had the priviledge of having them come to our stake to teach in the 3rd Ward of the Crescent North Stake. Lyndon invited me to attend the sacrament meeting that they were speaking in. It was so marvelous and I felt the spirit so strongly. They talked of Christ, they preached of Christ and gave us a charge to teach about the Savior in our homes, to our children and make sure that they gain a testimony of him and to know that he lives! He lives! This I know and hope that all of my own children know that he lives and loves each of them and all of his children. I have set a goal to read about the Savior this month each day. To read about his life from the New Testament and the Book of Mormon. I am grateful for the opportunity and the end of the meeting to get to shake hands with these wonderful men. After the meeting they asked all priesthood ages 12 on up to meet in the Relief Society room and these men from this ward, including my husband were taught at the feet of Prophets, for two hours. Lyndon said afterwards that the meeting was wonderful and very instructive to the priesthood brethren and he took several pages of notes. I wished I could have been a fly on the wall and could have heard what was taught. We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives. So blessed to have many temples in our midst and I am so grateful that Lyndon and I go almost weekly to attend the temple. It is a blessing in my life! I pray that this Christmas Season that each of my children will remember the Savior and all that he has done for them and each of us. I love the Savior and know that he lives and loves each and everyone of us.

I love my family! They are everything to me! That is what this life is all about is being and doing things with our families. It has been a tremendous day and I have truly felt the spirit as I attended my own meetings. I substituted in primary today and taught the sunbeams. They are sweet little children and so special in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. It was a blessing to teach them today. Life is good and I am thankful for this Christmas Season. A time to reflect on all of our blessings of the past year and remember from whom all blessings come. I hope all who read this will feel gratitude in their hearts for all that they have been blessed with.

Birthday Shoes!

This is my cute grandson...Eli Romig!

This is my darling little grand-daughter...Emma Romig!

This is my sweet and precious grand-daughter...Ruby Romig!

Yesterday I drove out to Eagle Mountain to spend the day with Ashley, Ruby, Emma and Eli. Emma just recently had a birthday on November 27th. She is now 4 years old. Ruby will having her birthday on December 7th and she will then be 6 years old. My how fast they grow! I wanted to do something for their birthdays and so I took them all to lunch at the McDonald's in Saratoga Springs. It was the place the girls chose to go. They got happy meals and were totally delighted. Ashley and I got a sandwich and enjoyed visiting together with the girls. Eli was really good too. He wanted to get down and wander. He just has a hard time sitting very long. Ashley had fed him lunch before we went and so he wasn't really hungry.

We then packed up in the car and headed to Lehi. We went to target to buy the girls birthday shoes. Ruby saw a pair of cute Hello Kitty shoes and loved them, but we decided they were not really practical for winter and a bit flimsey. She settled on a nice sturdy pair of cute gray and pink tennis shoes. They looked really cute on her. Then for Emma we looked for dress shoes and she found a cute pair of sparkly Hello Kitty shoes. They were really darling on her. We then bought socks and tights for them. I think the girls were really excited and tickled. I also have some disney dolls on order for them. I hope they will be here for Ruby's birthday. We had a fun day together. The time seemed to go by really fast, but we all had a great time. We then came back to Ashley's and I played part of a game with Ruby and Emma. We played a toy story matching game. I then had to head home because I needed to get dinner and then had YW sports night at 5:45. It was a fun day and I sure love my sweet little grand-children. They are such a blessing to their grandpa and myself.

Giving Thanks!

Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the GRATITUDE! (E.P. Powell)

I am so thankful for so many wonderful blessings given from my Heavenly Father. Too many to list them all. I am most grateful for such a wonderful and loving husband, who takes such great care of me and loves me even when I don't always deserve it. I am also thankful for children who each have great strengths and courage in their lives, to stand up for what they believe and to teach their children the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love all of my children and grandchildren. They are truly a blessing in my life. I am so thankful for the blessing and knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. To know him as my Savior and know that he lives and loves me and each of us. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving day and I hope that I can remember all that my ancestors before me have done that I may enjoy the blessings of freedom and the all that I now enjoy in my life. I call them blessed. I am so blessed to have the wonderful parents that loved and raised me righteously and taught me through love and example to become the person that I am today. I give them much praise and adoration. I am so happy to know that my parents and my children are mine if I live righteously and that we will be together forever. I hope that I will always be thankful and show it in my actions each day. I am looking forward to being with family this Thanksgiving Weekend it will bring much joy! I hope that we may all live each day with gratitude in our hearts and thankfulness to our Heavenly Father for all that he blesses us with each day. We are all truly blessed.

Newly Created Cards for the Holidays!

I love, love, love this card! My mom and I created this one while she was here visiting.

A pretty snowflake from the Art Phylosophy Cartridge. Quite pretty and simple.

Oh! Christmas Tree, how lovely are thy branches!

Frosty the Snowman...was a jolly happy soul.

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-tingatingalon too! Come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there!

Joy to the World the Lord is come! Let earth receive her king!

Just thought I would put a little Christmas jingle along with each card to help you all feel the Christmas spirit a bit more. I know we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet, but I like to start a bit early. Love you all and hope you enjoy the eye candy in cards. Have a good one, all!

SEMA Car Show in Las Vegas 2011

We attended the SEMA Car Show October 2nd to the 5th in Las Vegas. It was really amazing all the cars that are at the show and the work that goes into all of them. I loved looking at the different styles of cars and how they were painted. The artists that air brush the cars are truly amazing. We had a good time, but I was glad to come home and leave the city of sin. As they say, There's no place like home and your very own bed.

Dallen's new "dew"! I love it! He is so handsome! He went today and got it cut and styled. The color and cut that was done on saturday was terrible and Dallen hated it. But we both love his looks now!

Dallen's mad scientist style. Not so good. He disliked it and so did I.

Just a bit too over the top and punk rocker for me.

Candy Corn Bark Recipe | RecipeGirl.com

Candy Corn Bark Recipe RecipeGirl.com: Candy Corn Cookie Bark
Yield: About 2 dozen pieces
Prep Time: 25 min + chill timeCook Time: 2 min This is so easy to make and it will be well received by eager dessert eaters. It's very sweet, so the smaller you can get the pieces- the better.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups bite-sized chocolate sandwich cookies (Oreos), some sliced in half
1 1/2 to 2 cups broken-up pretzel pieces
1 cup candy corn
1 lb white chocolate (chocolate wafers work best... try Wiltons or Merckens brand)
1 tsp. shortening
brown and orange colored sprinkles
Directions:
1. Place waxed paper on large cookie sheet. Spread 1 cup of cookies, 1 cup of pretzel pieces and about 3/4 cup of the candy corn into a 13×9-inch rectangle on the waxed paper.
2. Place chocolate and shortening in glass measuring cup and heat in microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir and then microwave for about another 30 seconds until melted and smooth.
3. Drizzle melted chocolate immediately over cookie mixture, spreading with greased spatula (if needed) to coat evenly. Top with reserved cookies, pretzels, candy corn and colored sprinkles. Work quickly before chocolate hardens.
4. Place into refrigerator or freezer until firm. Remove and gently break apart into small pieces for serving. Store in airtight container.
Tips:
*Substitute large chocolate sandwich cookies for bite-sized, if desired (break them into pieces).
*Substitute M&M candies for chocolate sandwich cookies, if desired.
*Substitute Cheerios for pretzels, if desired.
*For easy breaking, use a sharp knife to press into the cookie bark- it will break apart easily.

Spencer's Wedding

Spencer was married on July 30th. It was a nice occasion. We loved meeting Melody's family from New York. Her grandma was a nice lady. She had a cute personality. We really enjoyed meeting her Uncle and Aunt, Paul and Marge. It was nice to have family and friends celebrate with them on their wedding day. And they are living happily ever after. Now you know The rest of the story! We also enjoyed seeing her parents and her sister and brother. I have to say, the dancing was the best part of the whole wedding. We loved it and so dis the grand kids.

I just created my first Halloween Subway Art!

I am so tickled at how my Halloween Subway Art turned out! I may be prejudiced, but I love it and think it is cute. Especially because I designed it myself. I am going to get a 12 x 12 frame to put it in. I am just so happy at how it turned out. Hurray! I have been wanting to do one for quite sometime and this afternoon I sat myself down, took a deep breath and told myself that I could do and I did. I will just have to design one for Thanksgiving and for Christmas! Hope you all enjoy! It was fun!!! You should try it yourself sometime. I have been making alot of fun Halloween projects this month. I get a bit carried away when getting ready for Halloween and the other holidays coming up. Well have a wonderful rest of the day everyone!

Beautiful Idaho Falls Temple

I love this picture of the Idaho Falls Temple. I love this temple, because it is where Lyndon and I were sealed to each other for time and all eternity, almost 31 years ago. On thursday, we had a niece, Heather Cook, Corwin and Marilyn's daughter, get married in the Idaho Falls Temple.

It was a beautiful wedding and it brought back many memories. Lyndon and I were both sealed with our families here at this temple when we were children. Those memories are precious to me. After the wedding we went to the wedding luncheon, which was held at Corwin and Marilyn's church building. It was really nice and we had a good visit with family and meeting Heather's husband, Levi's family. They are nice people and we enjoyed getting to meet them.

Later that afternoon we went back to the temple to do an endowment session with Lyndon's family. Those who went with us were: Danna and Grandma Cook and Ken and Karleen Kiffer. It was wonderful and we were asked to be the witness couple. The Celestial room is beautiful. They have opened up the ceiling and it is quite lovely. We had a wonderful day. We attended the reception that night and got to see family we haven't seen in quite awhile. The reception was really nice and decorated beautifully. I am happy for Heather and Levi. They are a cute couple. It was especially nice to get to go back to the Idaho Falls Temple and relive some wonderful memories there.

The Blue Day Book

I love this book! The fact is, we all have our bad days...they are part of being human. I love the photo's and the text messages. The solution is to see each incident in perspective, recognize that our feelings of failure and loss are not unique, acknowledge the absurdities of our existence, and glory in the potential we all have. Each image takes us through the entire evolution of a blue day-examines what it feels like, what causes it and how to get over it. Mostly we just need to find humor in our lives and find joy even on days when everything seems blue. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

Delicious Pancakes!

I wish I had a picture for you but, alas I didn't take one. We made these pancakes with the syrup this morning. They were delicious! The kamut flour has a nutty, buttery flavor. Dallen said the keep the recipe because they are so yummy. We all loved the almond buttermilk syrup. It is fun to try out new recipes, especially when they turn out and taste so good. I am going to try a recipe this morning with the kamut flour and make bread. I will see how it turns out and do a post about it. I will try to take a picture and post it. If you can get some of this grain in your area, you should try it. Also if your interested here is the website for Chef Brad.

Blueberry Kamut Pancakes with Buttermilk Syrup

I am trying a new recipe tomorrow morning for breakfast. I am sharing the recipe and hope you will try it too. I watched a segment on t.v. yesterday afternoon. It was "Chef Brad's Grainology". He was making things with Kamut flour. It is a type of wheat flour. It looked good and interesting. I will try it out and then post how it turned out and if it was as flavorful as it looked.

Here is the Recipe:

Blueberry Kamut Pancakes

4 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
dash of salt
2 to 3 cups Kamut flour
fresh blueberries

In a mixing bowl combine everything but the blueberries. Using a wire whisk, mix the batter until combined. Be careful to not overmix the batter, stop when just combined. Ladle the batter onto a hot griddle and add the blueberries to the top of each pancake at this point. Flip each cake when the sides harden and the underside is golden brown. Serve with delicious Almond Buttermilk Syrup.

Almond Buttermilk Syrup

3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon almond extract

In large sauce pan, melt the butter. Then add the sugar and buttermilk. Bring to a boil. Then add in the baking soda, vanilla and almond extract. It will bubble up, because of the soda. Don't be alarmed, it will settle down. It is delicious! Give it a try!

Have a good day everyone!
