"Grown with Love" card.

I got this cute stamp from Close to my Heart. My sister Cindy is a demonstrator and sells the product and I like to buy from her. Anyway, back to my card. I was in the mood to make a card with the stamp. It turned out pretty good. I am happy with it. The tree carries over into the inside of the card. I couldn't get a very good picture of it, so I didn't put one on my blog. It is a valentine card. I love making cards, among all the other things that I like to do, when I have the time. It is relaxing. Well gotta go and get dinner on and head to a Weblos planning meeting. See ya!

It's Weight Watcher Monday!

Well this morning I went to Weight Watcher's and joyfully I lost another 3, make that three!!! pounds! I was so happy! I now have 6 pounds to goal weight and only 4 to where I don't have to pay. "I feel excited, and I just can't hide it." Sorry, I just had to sing those words from a song. I am now wearing medium size tops and a size 12 pant. It is just so wonderful. I hope to go down one more size. That would be great! Well, enough of my excitement!

Yesterday I spoke in sacrament meeting. I was asked to speak on personal revelation. It was taken from Elder Russell M. Nelson's talk. It was a wonderful talk and I learned a lot in my preparation for the talk. It went well, but I am glad it is over. It is always so scary! Our meetings were so good yesterday and I really felt the spirit through the whole meeting. I love the gospel with all my heart and I love the Savior. I love reading the Book of Mormon with my hubby each night. What a strength that is to me! I have been so blessed. As I watch the news about the people in Haiti, it really makes me realize how much more prepared I and my family need to be. Not only physically, but spiritually too! So that no matter what happens in life we are prepared and all will be well.

I have such great children and daughters and sons in law and such sweet grand-children. They make my life so sweet! I am getting with Erin tomorrow and then on Thursday I am going out to visit Ashley in Eagle Mountain. It is nice to get away for the day and go visit. I really enjoy the drive. Well I need to get busy. I am going to tear into my craft room and get it a bit more organized this afternoon. Have a great day everyone who is reading this. Bye!

These are the slippers that I made today!
Here they are on my left foot! So cute!
Here is a happy Debbie, because my slippers are done and maybe next week I will do another pair. We had a lot of fun sewing today. The slippers worked up pretty fast and I really do love them. It has been a nice day. By the way, this picture is from a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I would show you my happy face! Hurray!

It is almost the end of January and where has the month gone?

Well I haven't posted for awhile. I thought I better catch up. I went to my mom's in Pocatello, last friday. Her birthday was on the 18th and so I spent four days up there and had a really great time. We made cards together and visited and in general just enjoyed each others company. My sister and her hubby and kids came up on Saturday and we all had a lot of fun together. It was good to see my sister, Marla. We only live 50 min. from each other, but it sure is hard finding time to get together more often. I guess it is because she works and I don't and she has grade school kids. I guess we are just in different times in our lives. Marla is so cute and talented and I just love her and love to be around her.

My mom and all of my siblings, excluding Cindy, got together for birthday dinner Saturday night and it was fun to eat and get to visit with all of them. I don't get to see Doug and Lisa that often either and so it was fun seeing them also. Then on Sunday evening we all gathered at Cindy's home and had a pancake dinner. Cindy is so kind and so good to let us all come to her home to be together. She has a lot of room and so it makes it nice to gather there. Then we played a couple of games of Spades. We had two teams going and our team played about 5 rounds compared to the other team because we played "Suicide Spades". It was really fun and went quick! Then we played Pictionary and to start out our team was losing, but we pulled a head and won the game. Hurray for us! It was so much fun! Then we played a game called "Murder". You have to guess who the murderer was, the instrument used to do the murder with and then the place the murder to place in. We all had a good time playing it. I even think Doug liked it. Hee! Hee!

Then on Monday morning I got all my stuff packed up and we did a card or two more and then the ladies, meaning Myself, Mom, Cindy, Lisa and Marla all went to lunch because it was mom's birthday. She is 69 years young, she really looks like she is still in her fifties. She is such a pretty lady and I love her so much. She means the world to me. I am grateful for her and her good example to me all of my life.

This week Erin has been her quite a bit. Not that she wanted to be, but they have had doctor appt.'s ect. and so she and Phia have been good company to me. We are going to sew slippers today and when I get them done I will post a picture of them. I am excited to make them. Well I guess that is all folks. Have a good day everyone. Oh and by the way, I lost a pound two weeks ago at W.W.'s and I missed last Monday, because of being in Idaho. I hope to have a good loss this coming Monday.

Fun Weekend!

We had a fun weekend. It was Grandma Cook's 81st birthday and the family was have a party for her in Idaho Falls at Corwin and Marilyn's home. Here are all the details....

I got all packed and then about 1:30 Lyndon called to tell me to meet him at his store and we would go from there. I got down there, ran in to say hi to Todd and then we were off. We had an enjoyable drive to Pocatello. I always enjoy it when I get Lyndon to myself. It is not often that we get to have that time together with busy schedules and all. Danna had asked us to pick Grandma up at Ed's home and so we did. As we were driving down Ed's street, who do we see walking up the street all bundled up. It was none other that Grandma going for a walk. We stopped and picked her up and she was very surprised to see us and wanted to know why we were in Pocatello. We just laughed and teased her about not remembering that it was her birthday. We stopped at Ed's to let him know we had picked her up and then we went over to the Red Lion Hotel and met Don, Danna and Rachelle and rode up to Idaho Falls with them. We arrived about 6:00 p.m. Right on time.

Everyone was there except....Les and Janey, Ken and Karleen and Ed. We had a good time visiting and eating and playing games. It was fun to see all the brothers and sisters and their spouses. We always have a good time when we are together. Marilyn prepared and nice dinner. Lasagna, two different kinds of salad and bread. Then for dessert she had a really pretty cake and ice cream too. We all sang Happy Birthday to grandma. What was funny was 5 minutes later as we were eating cake grandma asked us if we had sang happy birthday to her and we all laughed and teased her a bit and then sang to her again in a funny slow way.

Grandma is an amazing lady. I admire her so much! She raised 10 wonderful, happy, responsible and fun-loving children. She had to of had the patience of Job. She has taught me a lot over the years as I have known her. She is faithful and valiant and I am so grateful that she was such a great mother and grand-mother to her children and grandchildren. We love her so much.

As she was blowing out her candles we told her to make a wish. Then someone said..."What did you wish for?" and she replied, "If I tell you it won't come true." Danna teasingly said..."I know what she wished for, because she tells me this everyday. She wishes she could just die in her sleep." Well that is not what we all wish for her. We all love her and hope she has many more birthdays to come. It was a fun time.

We then drove back to Pocatello to stay with my mom. We had a fun visit and stayed with her until Saturday afternoon. We took her to Mama Inez's for lunch and then afterward we went back to her home and she helped me to make a crocheted hanger. She had made some for me for Christmas and I just absolutely loved them. I wanted to learn to make one, so I could make some more for my hangers. I got one made and it turned out really nice.

We then left her home about 3:00 p.m. and arrived in Sandy about 5:30 p.m. to find Delphia and Erin at the house. As I walked in Delphia came up and said "BOO", I scared you, Grandma!" She is so cute and we enjoyed our visit with them until Shane came home from Costco and they went home. Grandchildren are the best and I don't know what I would do without them in my life. It was a fun weekend!

It's a New Year!

Well I survived the holidays and had a lot of fun with family and friends. Now it is a New Year and their are always new goals to set and things to accomplish. I am still working on my exercise and good eating habits. They paid off when I went back to Weight Watchers on Monday. I hadn't been for two weeks, because they were closed for the holidays. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had lost 2 more pounds over the holidays. It is such a good feeling!!! I have some other goals that I have set for myself and hope to improve in those areas that I feel need working on. I am a work in progress and hope that in the end it is enough to allow me to be with my family and my Heavenly Father in the the life to come.

I love my family and especially love my grand-daughters. They are all special! I know that Ashley and Erin are trying to potty-train their two year olds. I remember what a challenge that was with my five children. They will get it in a couple of weeks and I am sure their mom's will be grateful! Well life is good and I am keeping busy working on some genealogy, crocheting and cross-stitch, along with my calling in cub scouts and being the wife of a busy husband.

We are going to Idaho Falls this Friday for Grandma Cook's 81st birthday. It will be hosted at Corwin and Marilyn's home. I look forward to seeing everyone. We will be staying with my mom on Friday evening. It will be fun to see her too! Well have a great day everyone!
