Fun Day with my daughters!

This morning I got up at 6:00 a.m and got dressed and headed downstairs to exercise. It is generally my morning routine. I love to do either Leslie Sansone Walk Aerobics DVDs or Kathy Smith DVDs. I always feel so good when I get done. This morning though I had some sinus pressure and decided to only exercise for a half hour.

Erin and Ashley came this morning about 9:30 - 10:00 oclock. Ashley came up for her doctor's appt. and to visit for the day and Erin was here to visit also. The girls all had fun playing together and watching some Dora dvds. The sure love to watch Dora. We made some Nutter-butter balls dipped in chocolate. It was something that Ashley suggested that we make. They were o.k. I think the oreo ones that I have tasted were a bit better. Oh well, we had fun anyway. Ashley has been feeling really tired lately and she is getting quite big. She is measuring 37 week and still has 7 weeks to go. Poor thing. She is quite a bit bigger than Erin. Erin carries her babies just like I did. I had big babies, but I carried them more inside instead of all out front.
I hope Ashley can hang in there. I guess she has no other choice. Being pregnant is not always real fun when you get down to the last few weeks. Especially when you have other children to take care of. Around 4:00 oclock Ashley decided it was time to head home and so I helped her get the girls ready and out to the car. Erin was here until Shane got home and then they left about 7:00 p.m.

I then went down and watched the Olympics and have enjoyed watching them on the evenings that I have had time to do so. It has been a good day.

Happy 12th Birthday, Sarah! I can't believe you are 12 already. You are such a cute girl and I know that you have a very sweet personality.

I saw this picture of Sarah on her mom's blog and had to do a digi-picture of it. What a beautiful young lady you are!

I hope your birthday was a special one and now you get to start doing all the fun things that the teens start doing.
Have fun in Young Women's and really enjoy it. I think you are special!

It is my Monday Weight Watcher's Day!

This morning I went to my W.W. meeting and thought that I would not make my goal. For the last two weeks I have lost a half pound and felt a bit frustrated. Well I stepped on the scale and to my amazement I had lost 2.6 pounds. I jumped off the scale and yelled hooray and clapped my hands. I was at two pounds above my goal weight which means that I didn't have to pay for W.W.'s. I intend to lose 7 more pounds and then I will have some leeway with the weigh in's. I don't want to have to pay for W.W.'s anymore. I just want to go and learn and continue to control my weight. I was so happy that I came home and immediately called my mom and my sister Cindy to tell them. They are both doing W.W.'s and we need each other's moral support. Cindy has a ways to go, but with going to W. W.'s and working on it a week at a time she will get there. My mom only has about 8 pounds to lose and she will get there too!

I just feel so great and it is so nice to be wearing a size 10 pretty comfortably. I mostly love all the things that I have learned in the past 6 months and I plan on learning more and more about myself and being in control of myself. It seems like when you get one thing under control and change things in your life it is easier to start making other good changes in other areas of your life. I am a work in progress.

Tomorrow Ashley and Erin are coming over for the day. It will be fun to see the grandkids and visit with my daughters. We always have fun together and the little girls love playing together. It should be a fun day.

Tonight we are going to the home of some friends of ours. He is wanting to quit smoking and the missionaries are working with them. They are going to give him the 12 step program and I hope he will follow it's principles and conquer his addiction. They want to get to the temple and just recently have become active again. They are a great couple and we love them a lot. Missionary work is so wonderful and it is so great to see couples and families come back into activity. The gospel is TRUE! I love it with all my heart and hope that a few years down the road that Lyndon and I can serve a mission or two together and help change the lives of others. Well enough of my rambling. Life is good and I am truly blessed!

Digital pic and some blogging!

Today is Sunday and I had a few minutes and just had to do a couple more pictures. It has been a really nice Sunday so far. Our meetings were wonderful and I really felt the spirit in each meeting. I am so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is a blessing and comfort to me to have the knowledge that I have because of the gospel.

We have Stake Conference coming up on March 6th and 7th. Our ward choir is singing a musical number for the adult meeting on Saturday night and so we have been practicing really hard to be prepared. The music is beautiful and it will be a great experience to perform. I am also singing in the stake choir for the conference. I have enjoyed the practices for that too! Being involved in the church brings many blessing and keeps us busy, but that is what this life is all about. I

I was asked a year ago, as a task assignment to work in the laundry for a year. It was on the third Tuesday and if there was a fifth Tuesday also. I am coming up on a year and now they are wanting people to become a temple worker and be set apart for the calling and do it once a week. I thought about it and decided that I had the time and love doing it. I serve on Tuesdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. I am a morning person and so it is not too hard to get up. I feel like Heavenly Father has blessed I am my family so very much that I need to serve in the temple and will find it a joy to do. I love the temple. It is a place of peace and love.

This coming weekend Lyndon and I are going to California for a business trip. We are flying down on Friday and planning to go to the Los Angeles Temple while there. We will be up in Burbank, CA for the business end of the trip. I am looking forward to spending time with Lyndon. I so enjoy being in his company. He is a wonderful man and I love him truly. It should be fun and it will be fun to be together. Well, I guess it is time to head to stake choir practice. Life is good and I hope it stays that way!

Just one more picture for today!

I was just about to go to bed. It is almost 11:30 at night and I saw these pictures on Meg's blog and couldn't resist doing them of Chloe. They are so funny and cute. Kids do the funniest things and they sure know how to make a Grandma laugh. Thanks for sharing these pictures of Chloe, Meg. I love them!

Goodnight All!

Eight Great Photos just finished today!

Today I got all of my house cleaning done and did some running around and then after lunch I decided that I wanted to work on my latest addiction. Digital Scrapping. I couldn't hardly pull myself away. Thanks to all the family members who put cute pictures on their blogs and on facebook. I love doing the pictures and sharing with everyone.

Lyndon and I went to dinner tonight at Ruby River. I have been craving Salmon all day and so that is what I ordered and it was so good and so satisfying. I love that place! Then we came home and watched the Olympics. I love to watch the ice skating. They make it look so easy and I know it is not! Well it has been a good day and I have accomplished alot. Hurray for Friday!

Just Sharing Two Delicious Cookies Recipes

I was at Stampin Up last night and some of the ladies wanted the Peanut Butter Fingers recipe. I brought them last month to share. So here is the recipe...

Peanut Butter Fingers

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup peanut butter
3/4 teaspoon soda
1/ teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and peanut butter.
Mix all dry ingredients together in a separate bowl, then add to the creamed mixture. Then spread out on a greased 13" x 18" cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 min. Do not overbake. (In my oven is usually takes about 10 to 12 minutes)

When it is done and you take it out of the oven, then spread a package of milk chocolate chips on top and let melt and then spread over evenly. Enjoy!

Here is another recipe that I love and want to share. These are really good too!

ORANGE OATMEAL CHEWIES

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Toast 1 cup oats in oven.

3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons orange rind

Mix dry ingredient together in a separate bowl. Then in a larger bowl cream together the sugar, shortening, egg, vanilla and orange rind. Then add the dry ingredients and the toasted Oatmeal.

Spoon out and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. The are so good! Hope you all enjoy!

I have been digital scrapping again!

I just get working on a digital picture and then get carried away and find more and more cute pictures to do. I just love doing pictures of my grand-children. They are all so cute and precious! We will be having three new grand-babies this year. Erin and Ashley are having babies in April. We are so excited and happy for all of them. Our family is growing by leaps and bounds. Little blessings from Heaven!

It's Monday Again!

Well, I just have to report that I have lost another pound and that is a good thing. I kind of had a bad week and couldn't stay out of those darn candy hearts the first part of the week. I finally had to lock them out in the safe. Out site, out of mind, right? So this week I need to do better and leave the candy alone. Some weeks are just harder than others. I guess the thing is that you don't give up and go back to those old eating habits. That will get me know where, except to being unhappy and not liking myself. I love the re-enforcement that I get from Weight Watchers. Our lecturer is so good and she inspires me to want to be in control of myself and do what is good for my health.

I am busy sending off Valentines to my family this week. It has been fun making the cards. I hope they all know that I love them all very much, even though I don't get to see them as often as I would like to. My mom is such a great lady and I am so glad that she is mine. She taught me and brought me up to be the good person that I am today. My father is wonderful too! He is on the other side now, but he taught me so many great lessons and did so many fun things with me as I was growing up. I love him dearly too and can't wait for the day that I get to return to see him, although I hope it is not until I am well into my 90's that I get to return. Hee! Hee!

I have wonderful siblings. I couldn't ask for better and I love all of them too! We have so much fun together, when we are able to be together. We all know how to love, tease, laugh, hug and just have a good time together. I love my family!!!

Speaking of love.... I sure do love my sweetheart, Lyndon! He is such a good man and so good and kind to me. He is a tease and anyone who knows him knows that this is true, but he wouldn't be Lyndon if he didn't tease you! I love each of my five children. Erin, Todd, Ashley, Spencer and last but not least, Dallen. They are all wonderful kids, who have grown into wonderful adults. Three of them are parents now and are finding the joy of raising their own children. I also love my four grand-daughters. They mean the world to Lyndon and I and we think they are all so special!

This is the week to tell everyone that you love them and really appreciate them. So I hope all of my family knows that I love them and CHERISH them. Here is a little Valentine poem for all of
those that I love....

On Valentine’s Day we think about
Those matchless people who
Give extra meaning to our lives--
The very special few.
Without them, skies would turn to gray;
Things wouldn’t be the same;
Life wouldn’t be as colorful;
It would be a duller game.
And when I contemplate that group--
Friends and family who are mine,
I appreciate and treasure you;
You’re essential, Valentine!

Hope everyone, especially my friends and family have a great week and a wonderful Valentine's Day! I love you all!

Digital pic of Ruby!

I did this digital picture of Ruby, yesterday and want to do one of Emma as soon as I can get to it. It is fun and an easy way to scrapbook.
I put this on the outside of an envelope and made a cute l page card for the inside.
I think he is so sweet!
I love this card! I think ths little girl is just a little doll.
This valentine card is an elephant who is looking for someone to love!

I had fun making these cards this week. I love how they turned out. Card making can be addicting. Have a good day everyone!

Two New Digital Pictures! So Fun!

This morning I just had to work on doing some digital pictures. I hadn't done any in a while. I had gotten a couple of new pc hugbug kits and had to experiment with them. They are so, so cute, as are my grand kids. These pictures of them are of when they were younger, but still so darn cute. I need to get a couple done this after noon of Ruby and Emma and then I will post them too! I am off to the temple in an hour and looking forward to that. Digital scrapbooking is the best!

Making Valentine's Cards Galore!

The past couple of weeks Erin and I have been making Valentine Cards for special people. It has been fun! I love making cards and giving them away. It is fun to get the creative juices flowing.
Erin was here the past couple of days and we have had fun being creative together. Erin made a cute Valentine Banner for her home and hopefully she will post it when it is done. I didn't make one. I don't get to see Ashley and the girls as often as I used to. With them living in Eagle Mountain is makes it hard for them to come because of gas issues. It does get expensive. They will be coming on Sunday and so I am looking forward to that. I have such sweet grand-daughters. Todd and Chloe came over for about and hour and a half on Monday evening and it was fun to see them. We had a good visit. I hadn't seen them since New Years. That sounds really terrible, but life gets busy for us all. I have seen Phillip and Tamara, she is Phillips new squeeze, a few times in the past couple of weeks. They are a cute couple and we enjoy having them over to visit.

Well on Monday I went to Weight Watchers and lost 1 pound. I always have to think about a pound of butter and put it somewhere on my body and then I can visualize that a pound is alot. I am getting closer to goal weight, so it may come off a bit slower, but that is o.k. I feel great and that is what matters. I am now happy when I look in the mirror and my body is happier with me because I am feeding it more healthily. So that is a good thing, right? I have now lost 30 pounds and I think that is quite an accomplishment!

Today I have cub scouts and we are doing the Webelos Review with the boys. The Arrow of Light Ceremony is coming up in March and we want the boys to receive their Webelo award and the boys that are graduating to get their Arrow of Light Award. I am preparing for that today.
I enjoy this calling and it is fun working with these boys. They are good kids and they usually make me laugh. They can be characters at time, though.

Well that is all for today folks. Here is my thought for the day....

"FIND ECSTASY IN LIFE - THE MERE SENSE OF LIVING IS JOY ENOUGH!"
