Concerning Weight Loss

I am close to my goal weight. One and a half pounds away. I am struggling a bit. My body doesn't want to give up the weight very easily. I am losing a half pound a week now and it is pretty slow. Well, I shouldn't complain. I feel really good where I am at and just need to work on maintaining and learning to keep myself in control. This seems to be the hardest part for me. I have loved the journey and I am still learning a lot about myself. I like these two sayings.....

I LEARNED TO LOVE THE JOURNEY. NOT THE DESTINATION...THAT (LIFE) IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL, AND THAT TODAY IS THE ONLY GUARANTEE YOU GET.

GETTING THERE ISN'T HALF THE FUN, IT'S ALL THE FUN!

So there you go. And I like this saying by Danny Kaye...LIFE IS A GREAT BIG CANVAS AND YOU SHOULD THROW ALL THE PAINT ON IT YOU CAN! I love it! I need to make everyday the best day I can and be positive about myself and life and live it to the fullest.

Well it has been a nice week. Erin and Delphia came to visit on Monday and Tuesday and Ashley, Ruby and Emma were here on Tuesday also. We all had a good time and the little girls all had fun playing. Ashley and Jed had Jed's Grandpa Romigs viewing to go to Tuesday evening, so I had them for dinner along with Erin and Shane and Phia. It was nice to be together for dinner. We don't get to do that very often. I just had to put this picture of Phia and her cute yellow hairbow. If you notice on her ear is a fake sticky earring. She wanted earring like mommy and grandma and so we put two green earring on her ears. She loved it. Here is a pic of Erin, Phia and my mom when she was here to visit. We loved having her here and the grand kids were tickled to see her.

I did this digital page with the pictures we took when Ashley was here on Tuesday. I think the Ruby and Emma enjoyed seeing her and we had a fun visit.

What a wonderful yet, miraculous weekend!

I guess I will start at the beginning by telling what happened on Friday. I woke up Friday morning and was eating breakfast and a molar on my bottom left side was a bit tender when I would chew. I took something for it and went on with my day. As the day wore on my tooth, gum and jaw area around the tooth began to ache. I thought to myself, "Hopefully I can just take ibuprophen and get through the weekend until Monday. My dentists office is closed on Fridays and so I figured I would have to get by until Monday. Well by dinner time I could hardly chew and when Lyndon and I went to dinner that evening I had to chew slowly and chew on my right side. To put it lightly I had a very rough night. My jaw ached and throbbed all night. When I got up at 7:00 a.m. Lyndon said you need to call our dentists and see what is going on. So I called him and woke him up. I felt pretty bad having to wake him up that early, but I was in a lot of pain. I explained what was going on and he said he would meet me in his office at 8:45 a.m. I did so and after xrays found that I had a very infected absess tooth. It had already had a root canal done on it several years ago and my dentist said it was done quite poorly and that is why I was having the problem now. He said that he would call around and see if he could get me in to a endodontist, but wasn't sure who would be willing to do it on a saturday. He found one, Dr. Bruce Kochevar. He set up and appt. with me for 4:00 p.m. that afternoon.

Well to tell you a little about what was going on this weekend. On saturday we had a funeral to attend in our ward at 11:00 a.m. Then at 2:00 p.m. there was a baptism in the stake that Lyndon wanted me to attend with him. It was also our stake conference weekend to top it all off. We were doing a dinner for the stake presidency and those that work with them just before the evening adult session Saturday evening. Then at 7:00 p.m. was the first session of the conference. Well I missed the funeral because I was waiting for the endodontist to call me, which he did during that time. I was in so much pain that I didn't attend the baptism with Lyndon and then at 4:00 p.m. I went to have oral surgery done on this tooth. So I missed the dinner and the adult session.

My surgery went well. Erin came with me because Lyndon was so busy with church things that he had to attend to. It was nice to have her go with me and drive me home afterwards. They had to cut my gum open and do the surgery and so I am swollen and have stitches which will come out on Tuesday. I sat at home that evening ice packing my cheek and feeling sorry for myself for having to miss the conference, but also greatly relieved and blessed that an endodontist was will to do the surgery for me. It was a blessing from my Heavenly Father and I know it is true.

I was also one of the speakers for the Sunday morning session of the conference and I knew I wouldn't be able to speak with all the pain my jaw was going through. So I was truly blessed. I woke up this morning looking like a lopsided chipmunk and a bit sore, but I was greatful that I could attend the conference and give the talk that I had prepared. At first I told Lyndon that I couldn't go looking like I did. Then the thought came to my mind of the Prophet Joseph Smith. He was tared and feathered and beaten and then the next day came and spoke to a congregation that came to hear him speak. I decided that my swollen cheek was nothing in comparison to that. My talk went well and it was a wonderful conference. I also sang in the stake choir and felt angel singing with us. It was truly a blessing to be there. I love the gospel with all my heart and want to serve and do as my Heavenly Father would like me to do.

My mom is coming this afternoon and will be spending 4 days with us. I am excited to have her here and get to spend some time with her. She is coming with my sister, who is going to Provo to help her daughter in law, Liz Thompson. By the way Liz and David's new baby is so darling. I am so happy for them. I know Cindy is looking forward to getting to help her. It has be a a wonderful and miraculous weekend and I am truly blessed.

Just Me and My Sweetheart

During our Thanksgiving family get-together for the Cook family. Jenn took pictures of everyone. She did a really great job with the pictures. I am finally getting around to doing it in digital. I actually like this picture of Lyndon and myself.

We have been married 29 years and 3 months. The years have flown by and I am still very much in love with my sweetheart and best friend. When we were first married I thought I knew what love was. As the years have gone by in raising children, having health issues and many other challenges that life brings I have learned that my love for this man has grown and that I love him more deeply than I did when we were first married. I have been so blessed with a man who loves me and loves our children and grandchildren. Who honors his priesthood and is kind and so very giving not only to his family, but to those that he works with in and out of the church. I learn something from him
each and everyday. I know that he is not perfect and neither am I, but we are striving together to be the best that we can be each day.

We spent the day in the Draper Temple today and it was so wonderful to be there and feel the sweet spirit that resides in that beautiful, dedicated building. It was our stake temple day and out stake conference is this coming Sunday. I am singing with our ward in the Saturday night session of conference and then with the stake choir during the Sunday session. I love singing in the choir. We are also doing a dinner for the stake presidency, wives and a few others just before the Saturday evening session of the conference. I am looking forward to this wonderful weekend. One sad note....A man in our ward, Mark Whetman passed away last friday and his funeral is this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. He had A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease) It is sad and hard. He was my age. We never know what life will bring us and we need to live righteously and endure to the end. I know that Mark did just that. As the saying goes...This life is the time to prepare to meet God. I am so grateful for the gospel and my family and I know that I am truly blessed.

Example of the Believers

Example of the Believers

I saw this on lds.org and I loved it. We all need to be an example of the believers and show more charity and love. These girls truly know how to show charity to those around them.

Back from California

We are back! If you didn't know, Lyndon and I went to Burbank, CA for a business trip. We were gone for three days and arrived home on sunday night. Todd and Megan came with us and we enjoyed ourselves. There wasn't an extremely lot to do in Burbank, but we relaxed and just enjoyed getting away. Lyndon's automotive show was on saturday night and sunday. We hate being gone and doing this over a sunday, but it is something Lyndon has to attend for his business. The weather was pretty nice. It rained most of saturday and then sunday was really beautiful. I enjoyed it, but it was also nice to be back home and be able to sleep in my own bed again. I also went to W.W. today and luckily I stayed the same with my weight and didn't gain anything with going on the trip to California. Well life is good and we found all well at home when we arrived. Dallen took good care of things for us. He is a good kid!

This coming sunday is our Stake Conference and I have been asked to speak in the sunday session. I am going to be busy tomorrow getting my thoughts together and on paper. I hope it all goes well. I also have cub scouts to get prepared for wednesday too! Oh well, it is all good and it keeps me busy and gets my brain working. So that is an extremely good thing. Well good night for now.
